Cole Montgomery and Jordan Small are two sides of the Round-Up Saloon coin. Montgomery’s endearing, affable demeanor is the stuff real cowboys are made of — even those who work in gay bars. That personality, along with some major vocal talent, is what drives the Whitney-wannabes to Cowboy Karaoke on Sunday nights. While Montgomery is big on charm, Small is all about the flirt. You’d swear his eyes actually sparkle, and a crooked grin has sent men (and some women) swooning in their tracks when he pours his signature drink (which he calls the “Hot Nasty”). He says he’s more cheesy than sexy. Then again, sexy guys always say that kind of stuff.

Not everyone can be a twink, a sometimes derogatory, but generally appreciative sobriquet used to describe young, fit, usually follicly disadvantaged gay men who are as valued as a 14-point buck. It’s not a matter of race (black, Asian, even Eskimo twinks? You betcha!) or muscles (skinny or muscular both qualify); nor is there a specific age limit (smooth-skinned fellas in the early 30s can even pull it off). It’s vibe, too … and one that Station 4’s prodigiously populated dancefloor seems to attract like a magnet. One advantage to being a twink? You almost never buy a drink. Ah, memories.
