Abbott joins other attorneys general in asking for stay of marriage ruling

I suppose it was just a matter of time. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today joined the list of attorneys general from across the country who are asking the California Supreme Court to stay its recent decision legalizing same-sex marriage. The attorneys general say they’re worried that gays from their states will go to California to wed, then come back and demand that the states recognize the marriages. Ten of the attorneys general signed a letter to the California Supreme Court last week, while Abbott and the AG from Pennsylvania didn’t get around to it until today. Abbott’s office was probably too busy dealing with the FLDS fiasco over in Eldorado, but I’d like to think they were actually sidetracked by this recent open records request from Dallas Voice.
