Pete Wentz and his mates in the band Fall Out Boy have joined the growing list of celebs who have donated money to fight the referendum on the California ballot that would reverse the state Supreme Court’s decision earlier this summer and once again ban same-sex marriage in the Golden State, according to reports by Advocate.com
Wentz, hubbie of singer and former Dallasite Ashley Simpson, said in a written statement: â€œI think Proposition 8 is pretty lame â€” as many others do too. Itâ€™s fucking lame.â€
Wentz and Fall Out Boy donated $50,000, following in the wake of folks like Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg, each of whom recently donated $100,000 to the effort against Prop. 8, and shortly after gay Ohio entrepreneur Jonathan Lewis issued a statement promising to match the next $500,000 raised by entertainers to fight the ballot inititiave.
