DALLAS VS. DALLAS: The X-plosion beat the Drillers, 6-2, 10-6. - sophia hantzes

Both Dallas Woody’s X-plosion and the Dallas Voice Drillers played exceptionally well at last weekend’s North Star Classic softball tournament in Minneapolis. The X-plosion won the open C-1 division, beating out the Drillers who won five of their games. Twenty-four teams competed in the C division. According to Drillers shortstop Lukas Quitner, it was his team’s best playing of the season: Before the Memorial Day tourney, the Drillers were 1-7 in the Pegasus Slowpitch Softball Association’s Cowboys Conference division. The X-plosion were 4-4.

On Sunday, May 24, the X-plosion beat the Drillers in two back-to-back games: 6-2; 10-6.

POOL SHARKS — COOL OFF AT THE MOSAIC POND ON SUNDAYS

The blistering Texas heat is here. On Sunday, it’s supposed to hit 92 without a cloud in sight.

If you don’t have friends with their own backyard cement pond, there’s still hope to escape the heat. Every Sunday through Sept 29, y’all can jump in the 120-foot long infinity edge pool at the Mosaic Sundae Skool Pool Parties.

The Mosaic’s eighth-floor pool has four bars, and the Sundae parties will have a special guest DJ, cold drinks, food, a private poker room, billiards, flat-screen TV and an air-conditioned lounge.

Mosaic residents get in free, but non-residents can pay $25 per event or buy a summer pass for $300.
