Had a blast in Athens
I just wanted to let you know that I read your article about gay Pride in Athens (“Organizer invites Dallasites to Athens Pride,” Dallas Voice, March 21), and I arranged to be there.
I had a trip planned to Istanbul and after reading your article, I made the necesarry arrangements to drop by Athens on the way to Istanbul and march in the parade. It was and always will be a memorable experience that I wanted to share.
I also had the chance to meet Andrea Gilbert, the organizer interviewed by Dallas Voice. She was a sweetheart and so happy to see someone from Dallas attend the event.
Thanks again for your article.

Haberman was right
Hardy Haberman wrote an article in Dallas Voice on the Obama-Clinton dream team (“Is Obama-Clinton ticket really a dream team?” June 13). I, too, believe the combination would ensure an automatic win in November, but I also think it would create a nightmare for the next four years.
Haberman’s closing comment was, “After all, our country’s motto is ‘E Pluribus Unum,’ ‘Out of many, One.’”
I understand that used to be our nation’s motto. I believe it has been officially changed to “In God We Trust.”

We welcome letters from readers. Shorter letters are more likely to be printed, as are those that address only a single topic. On some weeks we receive more letters than we can print. In that case, we print a representative sample. Letters are subject to editing for length and clarity, but we attempt to maintain the writer’s substance and tone. Include your home address and a daytime phone number for verification. Send letters to the senior editor, preferably by e-mail (editor@dallasvoice.com). Letters also may be faxed (214-969-7271) or mailed (Dallas Voice, 4145 Travis St., Third Floor, Dallas, TX 72504).
