By Jesus Chairez - Chairez Wire Services

Don Maison, executive director of AIDS Services of Dallas, takes a break to talk to Super Gay, Mexico’s gay “lucha libre” wrestler persona, during the first International March Against Homophobia held Saturday, Aug. 2 in Mexico City. Maison was in Mexico City to attend the XVII International AIDS Conference, which began the following day. Attendees estimated that several thousand people participated in the March Against Homophobia that began at the Angel of Independence on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue in Mexico City’s La Zona Rosa, the gay business district. Marchers moved down Paseo de La Reforma to the Zocala in front of Mexico’s Presidential Palace. - JESUS CHAIREZ/Chairez Wire Services
