Jennifer Aniston is still getting sympathy for being passed over for an Oscar nom for Cake (see my review), but if you want to do a side-by-side comparison to the woman regarded as taking her slot, check out Marion Cotillard, pictured, in Two Days, One Night. She plays a woman destined to lose her job, unless she can convince her co-workers not to take a bonus. (Now playing at the Angelika Mockingbird Station.)

For the week’s gayest-themed new release, check out The Humbling. Based on Philip Roth’s novel, it stars Al Pacino as a man who has an affair with a lesbian (Greta Gerwig). The relationship triggers a series of incidences with those from their romantic pasts resurface to cause chaos. (Now playing at the Texas Theatre.)
