The arguments of the prop 8 proponents all seemed to fall in two categories: “My god doesn’t like it” and “I think it’s gross.” There were no credible claims made as to how SSM would degrade “traditional” marriage. Marriage is a legal contract conferring MANY benefits on the couple involved. There has been no showing as to why this should not happen other than religion and bigotry. Everyone is supposed to be equal under law.
