REJECTING REGGAE HATE | Protesters rally in Deep Ellum to mark the appearance of reggae singer Buju Banton, some of whose lyrics call for the murder of gays and lesbians, at Trincity on Main Street on Tuesday night, Oct. 20. Banton’s concert was orginally slated at House of Blues, but that appearance was canceled. The concert was later rescheduled at the much smaller Deep Ellum venue. Demonstrators were kept behind barricades across the street by 40 Dallas police officers assigned to keep the peace between the 40 protesters and fewer than 50 concertgoers counted entering the hall.
