Chance Browning eats superdelegates for breakfast

So, who really won Texas on Tuesday?

Well, according to this, we won’t know until the Texas Democratic Party finally sorts out this whole delegate mess at its June state convention. And one of the deciding factors between now and then will be this this: If delegates elected at precinct caucuses March 4 don’t show up at county conventions on March 29, their votes won’t count.

Which is where Dallas Voice classified advertising account manager Chance Browning comes in.

On Tuesday, Browning was named an alternate delegate for Hillary Clinton in North Dallas’ precinct 1143. That means that if for whatever reason one of Clinton’s elected delegates can’t make it to the county convention, Browning may be called upon to fill in.

Personally, I think Browning is up to the task. As you can see in the above photo, he’s got plenty of flair. In fact, I don’t see any reason why Browning’s not in Clinton’s starting lineup for this convention to begin with.

So much has been made of those damned elite superdelegates in this race. Let’s not forget about the alternate delegates like Browning — “the sixth men,” if you will — who are lurking on the sidelines.
