I am sure you all remember David Webb, former Dallas Voice staff writer. He is living the good life on the farm down on Cedar Creek Lake these days, and has recently started his own blog, TheRareReporter.blogspot.com, to keep folks in the know about what is going on in the really quite large and active LGBT community there.
One of the upcoming events David blogged about is the 4th Annual Chuckwagon Cook-off happening Sunday, May 3 at 4 p.m. at Friends, the truly wonderful LGBT bar in Gun Barrel City.
According to David, there are four categories — Chili, Soup or Stew; Entree; Vegetable or Side Dish; and Dessert — anyone is welcome to enter. The bar opens at 3 p.m., and anyone wanting to compete needs to show up with their food already prepared in time to get entered before 4 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Human Society of Cedar Creek Lake.
