The Cedar Springs Merchant Association has announced plans for a bold new marketing campaign, which includes a new look and new logo for “The Strip on Cedar Springs.”
Logo submissions will be accepted by the CSMA through March 15. The winner and new logo will be unveiled at the 2012 CSMA Easter in the Park Celebration on April 8.
“We are seeking a logo that encompasses the diversity, colorful history and welcoming spirit of the best entertainment district in Texas, The Strip on Cedar Springs,” said CSMA Executive Director Scott Whittall.
The Merchants Association would like to market the area with one clear identity. Since Crossroads Market closed several years ago, Whitall said more people call the area The Strip rather than The Crossroads.
He said that all logos should include “The Strip on Cedar Springs” within the design.

Submit one original and five copies of your logo. Each entrant may submit a maximum of three different logos. All entries must be submitted on 8½-by-11-inch white background paper. All entries must be able to be made available in electronic form and be scalable for multiple uses.
A dated cover letter with the following statement must accompany each submission, “I agree that all logo submissions become the property of CSMA Inc. I also agree to have my name publicized if my logo submission is a finalist in this contest.”
The cover letter must clearly state whether the logo submission is in the Professional or Amateur category and must also include the name, address, phone number (or email address) of the entrant and be signed by the entrant. Any logo submitted which does not follow this format will be considered ineligible.
A panel of community members and CSMA Board members will review all submitted logos and will select a Grand Prize winner. The Grand Prize winner’s logo will serve as the official logo for “The Strip on Cedar Springs” and will be used for all future marketing purposes. The winner will be recognized with an award presented during the CSMA Easter in the Park Celebration on Sunday, April 8, 2012. The winner will also receive full credit for the logo design and recognition in all publicity resulting from the logo contest. The winner must also agree to participate in publicity events including, but not limited to, print, live and recorded interviews, as well as photograph and television shoots.
All entries must be received by the CSMA on or before Thursday, March 15, 2012. Any entry submitted after this deadline will be considered ineligible.
