DALLAS DIAMONDS KICK OFF SEASON

Posted on 09 Apr 2009 at 8:20am

Last year, after an undefeated season, the Dallas Diamonds were champions of the International Women’s Football League — their fourth IWFL championship since 2002 when they started playing.

This weekend, the Diamonds kick off the 2009 season. And they’re welcoming some special guests: members of the Oklahoma City Dolls, the pioneer team who had a massive winning streak in the late ’70s and became the subject of a 1981 made-for-TV movie starring Eddie Albert as the Dolls’ head coach.

On Saturday, The Diamonds (featuring lesbian running back Q. Ragsdale, above) play The Houston Energy in Bedford.

Pennington Field, 1501 Central Dr. in Bedford, Texas. April 11th at 7p.m. Tickets $10. Free parking. DallasDiamondsFootball.com

FORE! PLAY!

If you’re gay and dig swinging long clubs with little heads while trying to hit a small ball in just the right direction, the Different Strokes Golf Association is for you.
On Saturday, April 11, Different Strokes meets in Oak Cliff at the Cedar Crest Golf Course, 1800 Southerland Ave.

Cost: $40 (bring cash). Prize awarded for most sandtraps.
