Robert "Santa Bob" Farnsworth, 64, died peacefully on Thursday Dec. 17, surrounded by loving family and friends.
He was born May 4, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla.,to Russell J. Farnsworth and Mildred Louise (Hendrickson) Farnsworth.
Farnsworth graduated from Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa in 1963, then joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Fort Polk, La. He had a long and successful career as an accountant for Sun Oil Co., first in Oklahoma and later Dallas.
Farnsworth will be most remembered at Christmas as "Santa," as he posed with many friends and others who became instant friends. He never turned down a "Santa and pet" photograph. He will also be rememberd as a friend who was always there to help anyone in need of a home repair, pet sitting or a car ride.
He is survived by his partner of more than 17 years, Ronald Norman; his brothers, Jack and Berch; several nephews and nieces, and a host of loving friends.
Memorials may be made to the North Texas Food Bank. A celebration of Farnsworth’s life will be held at The Tin Room, 2514 Hudnall St., on Sunday, Jan. 3, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. •
