Well... I don't admire Ice Cube, but Trick Trick is amazing, if I was in Texas I would go to the show for Trick Trick's performance only and would go away when he steps off the stage. He got flow, lyrics and technique most rappers can't even dream about! And this is a free world, where anyone can hate homosexuals and say about that. And it is not reasonable to make a tragedy out of the fact that Trick Trick disrespects gays. Tricky is not an asshole, unlike those tolerance-guardians who call him this way! In a really free world it is OK not only to be gay, but also to hate them!

So BASICALLY you're an oversensative dude who has no life but to sit on news letters waiting to pounce on people u couldn't stand up to one on one. no one has to accept your way of life. get over it. I don't agree with Trick Trick for saying it's ok to kill gays but even im tired of seeing it paraded around like everyone should be gay. that's not what I want my Four year old looking at everytime she looks at tv. I'm glad someone said something about it. I just don't like the WAY he said it. My religion says no and I stick to that. doesn't mean im better than u nor does it mean im without flaws. that's just my decision on the matter and I have a right to that. and I don't think Trick is Homophobic. that would imply that he was scared of gays. Not sure if u checked his record, but the guy doesn't seem to be scared of much. lol. I also think the violence lyrics were a lame attempt at shock value. true it didn't work. but let's be real, if he really wanted to kill gays, a guy like him would have a body count already. he doesn't. get over yourselves...

hahaha. Actually, Queer Liberaction wasn't made aware of that concert until we had already committed to the Cinemark protest. I'm on just about every LGBT Dallas alert e-mail list I can find, but didn't find out about it until Thursday. (Got an e-mail from Equality Texas) By then it was too late to plan anything...

have a bigoted idiot performing there, but the answering machine is full.

Queer Liberaction wanted to protest at this concert Saturday night, but we decided to instead focus our energy and efforts on participation of Israel's MILK protest at Cinemark, which will last all day.

This concert sure would have been a great opportunity for Collin County Gay and Lesbian Alliance's "board" to prove that their organization was willing to get out and be visible, and willing to participate in direct actions that let Dallas citizens know "we're here and we're queer." Direct actions, rather than sitting around talking (which is what they said they're going to do with Cinemark's management. what a laugh) are the only way to show citizens of Dallas and the local news media that the Dallas gay community does not tolerate homophobic HATRED.

I'm utterly disgusted by the apathy of these established LGBT groups who are basically hiding in the shadows, afraid to come out and be seen or to make the local STRAIGHT news every once in awhile, protesting homophobia. Oh, wait, lemme guess....they plan on having a "meeting" with the owners of the venue? pah-LEASE. That board needs to rent "Iron Jawed Angles" and take notes from the Women's lib movement. If we want our equality and to stop homophobia in this city, we have to DEMAND it, not ask for it. Asking for it doesn't work.
