Fort Worth City Council meeting

Stonewall Democrats of Dallas is urging people to attend the Fort Worth City Council meeting tomorrow night — Tuesday, July 14 — in a show of solidarity with the Fort Worth LGBT community as the community continues to demand answers following the June 28 raid on the Rainbow Lounge.

Here is the info from the e-mail:

“Come to the Fort Worth City Council hearing to stand up for fairness and equality. Voice your opinion on the Rainbow Lounge Raid or just make a statement by your very presence. If there was ever a time to stand up for your community, it is now. The whole world is watching.If you’ve ever had a drink in a gay bar, you need to be there. This is more than a gay issue, it’s a human rights issue.

Details: Arrive by 6:00 pm at the south parking lot to get instructions, go through the security check, fill out a speaker form (even if you’re not planning on speaking!) and get a seat in the Council Chamber. No signs, posters, or flags. There are 77 items on the agenda. John Nelson, for Fairness Forth Worth will speak under the “Public Comments” section. Be prepared for a long evening.”
