Nikki Blonsky, star of this year’s musical film “Hairspray,” will join the Turtle Creek Chorale for a one-night only concernt on Dec. 16 at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
The Richardson All-District Elementary Choir will join Blonsky and the chorale for the concert.
Blonsky starred as Tracy Turnblad, a high school student who auditions for a spot on a teen dance television show, despite her mother’s concerns and opposition from a show coordinator.
“Nikki Blonsky is the perfect artist to help us usher in the holiday season,” said Jonathan Palant, artistic director of the chorale.
“The bases are loaded with Nikki, the TCC and the Richardson All-District Elementary Choir. This evening is sure to be a grand slam,” he said.
In keeping with the TCC’s 17-year tradition, patrons are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or stuffed animal to be given to children who are needy.
