Hate crime trial under way

Bobby Jack Singleton’s trial is under way in Dallas County’s 194th District Court. Singleton is charged with aggravated robbery in the July 2008 gay-bashing of Jimmy Lee Dean. Eyewitness Michael Robinson is on the stand, and about five people from the LGBT community are in the audience. I’ll have a full report on Instant Tea later today.
