Obama not snubbing The Advocate
April 8th, 2008Sen. Barack Obama, who’s been criticized of late for not talking to the gay press, reportedly did an interview with The Advocate on Monday.
Michelle Garcia, an editorial assistant for The Advocate, told Dallas Voice on Tuesday that the interview will be posted on the magazine’s Web site Thursday. It marks Obama’s first interview with a gay publication since October, when he spoke to The Advocate in response to the controversy surrounding Donnie McClurkin.
Since then, Hillary Clinton has done interviews with Dallas Voice, The Washington Blade, The Philadelphia Gay News, and two gay newspapers in Ohio. Last week, The Philadelphia Gay News left a blank space next to the newspaper’s interview with Clinton to draw attention to Obama’s snub.
A spokesman for Obama’s campaign said Tuesday that the interview with The Advocate was scheduled prior to publication of the PGN edition and was not done in response to the blank space, which drew widespread media attention.

It’s just too little too late
A little too slow
And we can’t wait
Hillary knows all the right things to say
(You know Obama’s just too little too late)

John,
You left out a little detail about the Philadelphia Gay News(PGN) part of your story — it has been reported that the PGN publisher is a Clinton supporter and contributed funds to her campaign last year. So I would be a bit suspicious of anything written by him. I realize in the Instant Tea blog that you did write about the $1000 from the PGN publisher earlier, but I think it is important to repeat that in this blog entry.

FYI, Hillary Clinton was key in passing Gay Marriage in Massachusetts by having her campaign manager, Terry McAuliffe, quietly calling legislators to sway their votes. Obama did nothing. Marriage is a basic civil right that should be attainable by all Americans if they choose. For the truth about gay marriage check out our trailer. Produced to educate & defuse the controversy it has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue: http://www.OUTTAKEonline.com

I agree w/ Kia, Hillary has been doing interviews w/ Gay Publications throughout the primary, and lets not forget the pride parades she has marched in as well as the pro gay legislation she has sponsored, and only now is Obama agreeing to this. I mean, less we forget the pre-primary Obama campaigning that included homo hating ministers. He knows where his bread is buttered and it’s not in the gay community!!!

For you doubters, check out Obama’s web site, which has a LGBT section. I am amazed at how the Shrillary-lovers think that she is the great champion of the LGBT community — Clinton will throw the community under the bus if need be — after all, this is the “kitchen sink” candidate. She has certainly NOT been a champion of gay marriage.

Um Omer, hate to inform you, but none of the candidates are offering Gay Marriage, sorry but that does not appear to be on the menu
