(United Methodist News Service photo/Paul Jeffrey: LGBT supporters react Wednesday to a vote upholding anti-gay church policies at the United Methodist Church’s General Conference in Fort Worth.)

Soulforce and the Reconciling Ministries Network are reportedly planning a disruption of the United Methodist Church’s General Conference in Fort Worth at 11 a.m. today. It was unclear what form the disruption would take. Eight years ago, nearly 200 people were arrested in a disruption organized by Soulforce at the UMC General Conference in Pittsburgh. Today’s event comes on the heels of two key votes Wednesday in which General Conference delegates upheld anti-gay policies of the church. Read more about the votes and the disruption in Friday’s print edition of Dallas Voice. Also, DVtv’s Ben Briscoe may be along with some video.

The sadness on the faces of the people in this photo is indescribable. You have to ask yourself how long will you continue the fight for equality within the UMC or is it time to pick up your Bibles and leave?
