I did suggest that the Dallas gay community should learn from its mistakes. I suppose if Mr. Wright wants to take that personally, that's his prerogative. To do so, however, would be yet another example of how Mr. Wright sensationalizes my remarks. Fortunately, this blog retains an accurate recording of my posts and readers are able to judge for themselves which of us is engaged in personal attacks and which of us is attempting to have a civil debate about the issues. Any time we're willing to defend to the death a politician, police officer or power broker just because that person is gay, we're setting ourselves up for disappointment and embarrassment.
