Tuesday’s protest was a hot tranny mess!

Honey, last night’s protest on Fitzhugh Avenue was fierce. The transgender community and supporters demonstrated their disapproval at Crews Inn who asked drag queens and trans women to leave the bar on a recent Tuesday night.
About 20 protesters marched and carried picket signs (some featured the pink triangle NOT upside down) along the Fitzhugh sidewalk beneath the glow of the Royal Liquor Beer & Wine sign.
While patrons attempted to enter Crews Inn, the protesters would scream at them, “No! Don’t go in there! Crews Inn discriminates!”

If the wannabe patron listened and didn’t enter, they were lovingly cheered.
A handful of cops were on hand. I left at 11:30 p.m., and nothing too dramatic had gone down.
But the Fitzhugh strip was bustling. Zippers was busting at the seams — there was a line that stretched around the building as customers tried to get in. Zippers also had bucket of free chilled water bottles for protesters. Some Zippers employees and patrons got into the spirit — wearing hideous drag outfits with wigs and fugly makeup.
The protest was impressive. Krystal Summers started out marching in four-inch stilettos, but after an hour, she changed into running shoes.
It will be interesting if this becomes a regular Tuesday night event. If so, the protesters should work on creating more chants and “tzuj” them — a la Janet Jackson. And how come there was not ONE furry boa whatsoever?

Who in their right mind would ever want to tangle with a drag queen. They could kick my ass in a NY minute.

I love it! We need more protesting in this country when unjust things happen! It is a shame that the local news and Dallas morning news chooses not to cover this!

All fun aside, it is very sad when an establishment that caters to our community openly discrminates. As one of the protesters, I think it was successful event. We saw close to 90% of the people walking up to Crews Inn change their mind and go somewhere else.
DGLA is looking to partner with organizations to get out the word and fight Crews Inn until they change their policy.
Crews Inn’s policy is in violation of the City of Dallas non discrimination ordinance. To file a complaint, call 214-670-FAIR

I have been in there several times through the years and never have I seen a problem involving a drag queen. Many of the communities drag queens work there or they have done shows there. David Moore needs to remember how he pays his bills and where his money comes from. He may want to keep out the hustlers that sell drugs in his bathrooms that is who is causing the problems and not spending money. You have the target on the wrong people. Now that’s a good business decision (right). The business has been going down hill for some time now and this may just be his way of getting attention. His drag queen bartenders have really been put in a bad position.

JUST WANTED TO STOP IN AND SAY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE IT TO THE OUR PEACEFUL PROTEST LAST TUESDAY. IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME THAT SOOO MANY OF YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE WERE COMING FROM. ITS JUST WRONG TO KICK SOMEONE OUT OF A BUSINESS BECAUSE OF WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT SOMEONE ELSE DID. FROM THE BEGINNING I HAD SUGGESTED THAT EVERYONE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS NOT THE WHOLE GROUP. IM SURE THEIR ARE BAD APPLES IN EVERY GROUP, BUT WHY ARE WE BEING TARGETED OUT????? MY ID MATCHES MY FACE, BUT WAS NEVER ASKED FOR MY ID NOR WAS THERE ANYONE AT THE DOOR TO CHECK FOR MY ID. IF WE ARE SO HORRIBLE ACTING THEN WHY WOULD YOU EMPLOYEE 3-4 DRAG QUEENS IN YOUR BAR??? NOW YOUR SAYING I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THEM I WENT TO A SHOW LAST SUNDAY??? I LIKE THE WAY HIS STORY KEEPS CHANGING. IT WAS VERY UPSETTING TO ME THAT I HAVE GOT MANY MANY MANY EMAILS FROM DRAG QUEENS AND TRANSSEXUALS TELLING ME THAT THEY ALSO GOT KICKED OUT BUT DIDNT FEEL THEY COULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY HAVE ALL BEEN SO POSITIVE AND THANKFUL TO EVERYONE THAT CAME LAST TUESDAY TO PROTEST THIS UN-TOLERABLE BAN, AND THANKS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT MAKE IT, BUT HAVE EMAILED EVERYONE THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS MATTER,TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. what kiils me the most is that u post these pics of krystal summers when she is one of the main reason why transgender girl have such a bad rap.I mean look how many times she has been kicked out and removed from bars even the ones she works at.She is also the main reason why we are not allowed to go into crews inn.Because of her drinking and cant control her mouth.I would much rather see her set this protest out we dont want or need her support or help.Im not a big fan of hers anyway.This is a time where we are all suppost to pull together but when girl like myself have to go behind her and clean up her mess just so i can be respected is really makes me upset.I have fought for not only my rights but the rights of others to have a place to stand in the gay community and then u have people like her that thinks she is grand and can treat peolpe the way she does.She runs her mouth on the microphone and belittles people in public and thinks it is funny.But the sad thing about it is that not only does she make herself look bad but it reflects on all transgender woman.I on the other hand i am a transgender woman who carries myself like a woman and have upmost respect for the other transgender woman and most of for myself. But i cant seem to bring myself to find any for her(krystal summers).If you watch how she acts in public you can see she dont have respect for her own self.

Hello everyone!!… First and foremost i would like to thank everyone who has supported us thru this whole ordeal….when i first went to the voice to discuss this problem i had with Mr. Moore’s bartender asking us to leave because we were “TG”, i never expected it to go this far…i just wanted them to know that there still and probably always will be discrimination in our own community…i am not ashamed of who or what i am so i was made to feel humiliation because of what i am and by a gay man who no doubt that has, im sure at one time in his life was discriminated in his life because he is gay….i understand that some and not all “DRAG QUEENS” Do act like divas but makes you wonder why and who gives them that kind of power or status…and yes some steal, beg for drinks and lock themselves up in bathrooms but everything said…so do alot of other people..gay included…i didnt ask for an appoligy from M

W. a former entertainer and title holder himself and you know who you are… for yelling out to us that night…”go home drag queens” people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw rocks!!…i don’t want this thing to devide any of us i want the same right to go and have fun at any public place gay or straight, like everyone else without being asked to leave because of what someone else does or what i am….i am not responsible for the whole ts community i am only responsible for myself!!………….i wish to thank so many people for being there when i thought i would be standing alone..Please come out and show your support again tommorow night at 9:30 p.m. once again thanks to all the media coverge and thank you to all the people at the voice for listening……………………….CELESTE N.

IN DEFENSE OF KRYSTAL SUMMERS….I DONT THINK THAT THIS WHOLE THING CAN BE BLAMED ON ONE PERSON AS DAVID MOORE TRIED TO DO…WHATEVER SHE HAS DONE DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE WHOLE TG COMMUNITY…DAVID MOORE WOULD DISCRIMINATE NO MATTER IF KRYSTAL WAS AROUND OR NOT…THATS A FACT!!…I WOULD LIKE TO ALSO STATE FOR THE RECORD THAT SHE WAS THERE TO SHOW SUPPORT AND THAT TO ME SHOWS THAT EVEN SHE IS WILLING TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!!….NON OF US ARE WITHOUT SKELETONS IN OUR CLOSETS REMEMBER THAT…….THERE ARE OTHER TS’S IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT DO OR HAVE DONE SO MUCH OTHER WORSE THINGS…ARE WE GOING TO BLAME ALL OF THEM AND ENTERTAINERS TOO!!
