Update Rainbow Lounge
June 28th, 2009Just talked to a girl named Alison. When it first started she went up to a cop and said thank you for coming out to keep us safe. This is a rough neighborhood. He said that’s not why we are here. She asked why they were there and he said a disgruntled employee had said that the bar was overserving people. She told him she had been drinking but that she had a designated driver. He told her that she was fine. She said they only arrested men and seemed to be targeting effeminate men

I am a former Gay night club owner from a small town in central Florida, our sheriff’s department comended us for running a trouble free club, we had only called police 3 times in 4 years. There were only two times law enforment parked outside watching our club to hassel customers, and it was a case of new officers. I wonder how many strip clubs or “redneck bars” were raidied? So very sad that people are so affraid of the Gay Community. Go after the murders, Drug dealers, and spend the time and money where it needs to go…. and how many child molesters are hetrosexual???? When you look at the countries in Europ and how it is so accepted there, I am sometimes sad to say I am from the United States.

I am outraged at the tactics that not only by the Fort Worth police but those by TABC officers. I only have one question for the neo-nazi strong men, had you been in a straight club and groped or lude jesters made to you by a female how many would have been arrested and how many would have been beaten.
It is amazing how time changes things yet some things never do. Ihave never been ashamed of being a gay man in the twenty three years that I been out however I am highly ashamed of the city and state that I live in.
