Despite Rachel Maddow having the day off, Allison from NPR reported on this tonight on The Rachel Maddow Show. I’m sure it will get more attention coming up since HRC has now also asked for an investigation in additon to the 2 council members (as referenced on Maddow tonight).

Keep spreading the word.

Then I believe you misunderstood the first comment regarding CNN’s coverage. While the video from DFW TV may have posted to CNN’s main “internet” page as well, it actually aired on TV as did the MSNBC coverage. I agree with your statement that one should read each of the accounts… both sides of the story. By doing so, also ensures that you read and comprehend the statements with which you read. Condeming the medical information being posted by the editors of Dallas Voice to update the community as to this young man’s status would be part of that– not equating someone vomiting to having their head damaged to the point of internal bleeding. Please reconsider accepting your own advice… and an apology to the family of that young man who is in the hospital in ICU. That would show you truly mean what you say. No one should be treated as it appears (by medical state and documentation) he has been.

Oh wait, you continue in the very next paragraph with a predetermined outcome while you are still keeping an open mind while researching the internet all day. The sheer emotion you are replying with would lead me to believe you have a strong connection to FWPD or TABC… but hey, that’s me keeping an open mind and not jumping to conclusions before obtaining all the facts.. on both sides. I look forward to the post with a picture of yourself in halo and angel wings.

I don’t believe that the straight girl who commented earlier was actually in the bar. I was there with several friends, and this is just all blown out of proportion. Yeah, the police put a few people in restraints. But there wasn’t any beatings going on. I didn’t see if any of the officers were actually assaulted, but I did see Chad, and he wasn’t thrown to the ground. He looked pretty sick and then he just sort of collapsed and was puking and stuff. @ Pro Police, it would go a long way to serve your point if you could provide links to your sources of the contrasting accounts. It always helps to give sources instead of making claims unsupported by most of the current media on the topic.

Why would I discount an actual airing, versus a posting to a website? Two very different things. Unlike so many of the people who are reacting to this on sheer emotion and zero fact, I’m thinking it through and reading every account I possible can before forming my reactions. I’m not surprised, however, that there are certain eyewitness accounts not getting any attention at all. The ones who are calling this much ado over nothing are being totally ignored…and why wouldn’t they be? They’re trying to calm the hysteria instead of adding to it.

I will say this to @Damien however. I do feel bad for the guy in ICU. It sucks to drink so much that you get alcohol poisoning, puke violently, and blackout, leading to a total collapse and cracking his head on the ground. That has definitely got to hurt…and a hangover on top of it doesn’t help. If you go read other eyewitness accounts on other web sites – some that are a little calmer than the original ones posted here – several have said that he looked visibly ill and no one was even touching him when he collapsed. The fact that he collapsed and the fact that the police were at the bar are two separate things. The cops didn’t force him to get drunk to the point of falling down. In fact, they made the responsible decision to call the ambulance and release him into emergency services instead of taking him to jail with the other drunks.

Just to let you know, since you discounted the previous airing of the video on CNN, that MSNBC has actually “shown” the video, but the newscaster actually discussed the story… which lead into the story of LGBT leaders meeting with President Obama.

Potential lead ins for this evening’s national news:

DFW Police lead 2+ hour pursuit ending in ___________ (status unknown at time of writing)
Then in FTW, excessive force claimed and man in hospital with head injuries on Anniversary of Stonewall Riots.
Then, now to President Obama’s meeting with LGBT community.

Oh wait… that JUST happened. My bad.

I have always believed that the Dallas Police Dept. was the laughingstock of law enforcement worldwide. Thank you, Fort Worth PD for taking that honor for the present.

Actually, this is the first time I have ever used the internet. Please, could you tell me more about how this works? You can post videos to CNN? OMG! … what is a video and how do you post it? Appreciate your help with understanding this whole concept.

Considering the “breaking news” stories this “video posted to CNN” (that made it to air) is competing with, an exiled president of Honduras, the filing of custody papers on a global icon, status of international protests in Iran, status of US troops withdrawing from Iraq (which is a war I’ve just been told we’ve been in for a few years), and the sentencing of a man to the full extent of the law in a scheme which squindled people out of Bbbbah-billions of dollars………..is amazing.

I had NO idea that CNN fits in each and every one of the videos submitted into their newsdesk daily like this. Makes their on-air news cast rather irrelavant I guess then! Guess you just put all the newscasters and staff out of business.

When you get back to me on how to post a video-thingiemabobber to this internet machine, I will post again and let everyone know when you can see my dog doing tricks on CNN. Maybe I can pre-arrange the time with CNN so it will coincide with brunch.

As for the comment, “itâ€™s died down after the facts were sorted out and the so-called eyewitnesses lost all credibility”… what you are saying is that 100% of the time in 100% of the cases that either excessive force or misaction by a PD has been claimed, the PD has been 100% in the right?

Here are a few places (with references) you might want to spend some time correcting. For those people listed in the below cases who complained of excessive force who may still be alive, maybe you could share your above opinion. Good luck.

Hmm, what about the guy in the ICU right now? Lets hear how you respond to that and then I think it will become apparent, if it hasnt already, how nuts you are and why you dont even represent a minority opinion. Just some nut job who doesnt think through what he is typing before he types it. So, Pro Police…… The guy in the ICU? What about him? Is he just some drunk? Does he deserve what he got? I’m sure we are just all waiting to be enlightened……
