Obama and our Dem-majority congress play finger-pointing games as to who should repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. His own lawyers say our partnerships are the same as incest and pedaphilia. Meanwhile even here in the buckle of the Bible belt, polls show 57% of Texans are in favor of either marriage equality or domestic partnerships. What, exactly, are they waiting on? Higher poll numbers? They are cowards more consumed with their own political careers than the rights of the citizens who elected them. Obama made it clear during his campaign that he's against gay marriage (as did Hillary Clinton), and therein probably lies the truth: He has never been our ally. When it comes down to the wire, he believes in his heart that his religious beliefs should be legislated into law. He wants our dollars and our votes, but he's unwilling to stand beside us.

Note to Sheriff Valdez,

Please tell President Obama that here in Texas "Good Ole Boys" are still raiding gay bars just like they did 40 years ago. Ask him to DO SOMETHING.

Thanks,

Your friend Hardy
