Comments on: Official police estimate for Million Gay March is 1,200 to 1,400

I know everyone is saying we need to get over the counting thing, but I was there, too. I’m certain there were less than 300 people. I am now getting a little offended that so many people in our community lie with such ease.

The Dallas Morning News said “a small crowd of about 300 people.” They got it right.

We should be talking about why the event didn’t work, not lying about its success. It is even clear from the photographs that it was a small group of people.

So, let’s stop lying and start discussing why so few people came. I’m ashamed of the fact that we can’t get a crowd together to March, but every Friday and Saturday night thousands of gays prance around Cedar Springs. Can’t we March a few times a year?

I was there, I turned to my BF and asked how many people do you think are here and we both look around and decided there were more than 1000. It was HOT, Crazy Texas HOT, just think if the weather had been nice how many people would have been there. I Loved It. Good job to all those who helped and covered the event.

The Dallas Morning News had “about 300 people, too.”

I still believe what Andrew said and I have looked at all the pictures posted – I never see more than a few hundred people. I also think the “pro-march” people want the rest of us to believe that it was successful. 300 or 1200 people are both very insignificant.

The only way to resolve this is the pictures and the video.
