You probably already know the gay club scene is taking another hit. Buddies II will be shutting their doors Oct. 1 which really sucks. They have one of the best sound systems I’ve ever heard in a club and many a summer was spent playing sand volleyball on the weekends. We’ll feature Buddies II in the near future but I just wanted to be sure you’ve seen their Web site.

The goodbye letter on their homepage is somewhat heartbreaking to read by owners Sandy and Dawn. The Buddies crew is working to fill up their September calendar with special events all the way to the final weekend. I’d recommend checking out what might look like the only Drag Kings show in their already busy schedule. The show is an absolute kick and the ladies eat it up. According to the calendar, you have one last chance to see them perform at their original spot and that’s gonna be Friday night at 10 p.m.

I just hope the Kings can find a new home because when it comes right down to it, they are fairly awesome.
