I hope that Fort Worth is able to have people represent the gay community in a positive way. Some of the outspoken people who were “speaking” for the gay community are have been arrested for drug crimes while others have their face all over every gay sex site like the manhunt, adam4adam and so on. These are not the kind of people we need to speak for us.

These protests are not about LGBT Equal Rights – they are about “creating disagreement and headlines.” In the face of thoughtful logic (like the previous Comment) these angry malcontents will still try to instigate controversy.

You would think when members of your own community asks you to “please stop hurting us” that they would listen. Instead, they just turn up the volume. Whatever bridges have been built in FW because of that unfortunate night – are burned down by these fools.

Grow up.

MOVE FORWARD people! Correct me if I’m wrong, but didnt the lead TABC agent go on the news saying HE arrested Chad Gibson, not FWPD?!? Didnt the rookie TABC agent go on the news saying HE watched Chad do a face plant but was unable to get to him to stop the fall?
FWPD is at least trying… the city of Fort Worth initiated the Diversity Task Force and is making HUGE strides for our comunity with requests to add gender expression and gender identity to the anti discrimination policy, and the vote for domestic partner benefits is now on the radar and within our grasp.
Stop yelling about conspiracy because you buy hook line and sinker all the unsubstantiated runors the bloggers wrote to generate “straight cop panic”… (BTW, it was TABC that said he was groped, NOT FWPD) 30+ witnesses came forward and not one could substantiate excessive force. The FWPD Chief has already apologized for not knowing the significance of June 28th, which let’s be honest, HALF of our OWN community could not have accurately explained.
This “IN YOUR FACE” rhetoric risks alienating the general population that might just now be ready to consider our plight and get behind us in our pursuit for civil rights…
Do something helpful, be positive in your involvement or shut up! No wonder the narrow minded extreme Bible thumpers are coming out of the wood work. Be smart geeeez!

I’m curious, I guess you are suggesting that Fort Worth is more welcoming to LGBT because of your little “Bitch-Fests.” Ask the people in Fort Worth – they actually agree with the LGBT Community – you guys are annoying clowns.

MY concern is that this is going to overshadow our resolution to add protection for transgender people to the city’s anti-discrimination ordinance…something I’ve been trying to change for years.

Is this another advertisement for Rainbow Lounge?

Hopefully, this stunt will have only 10-12 people. Without “drink specials” they’ll never draw a big crowd. Angry demands. Angry demands. Angry demands. Isn’t 40 years enough?

Can’t you guys think of something productive to do? Complaining, especially when Fort Worth has responded very positively, doesn’t help. Activists have been fighting for decades and we aren’t any closer to equality. Please explain “why” you believe fighting works? Don’t refer to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 either. That’s 45 years ago. We live in a new world. A new world, full of old ideas.
