Miss Gay Brazil brouhaha
November 23rd, 2009Okay, thanks to Carl Smith for sending me the link to this clip.
It is, I think, a news report about a little, um, disagreement that broke out over the results of the Miss Gay Brazil pageant. I say I think, because I do not speak Spanish — or Portuguese — and can’t understand what the person doing the voiceover is saying. But the title says Miss Gay Brasil, as does the big banner on the stage.
I don’t know the winner’s name, but Carl says the disgruntled contestant was Miss Sao Paulo.
(Oh, and I love the use of Abba’s “Dancing Queen” at the end.)

Well it’s definitely not Spanish…it’s Portuguese so if any Brazilian/ Portuguese peeps wanna translate, that would be awesome! But does it really matter what she says? The vid is priceless. LOL

Brazilians speak Portuguese, so knowing Spanish wouldn’t help very much.

When she comes back after what the voiceover calls a “hate attack”, to finish the interview, she says”With or without my wig, I AM Ms. Gay Brazil!”. A good laugh.

Before the attack, she is thanking the press and everyone else. She says, “My dream was always to be gay queen of Brazil.”
After her crown and wig are grabbed, she tells the interviewer, “I knew she was going to do that because she’s a very jealous person.”
