The Aug. 16 Dallas concert of Lilith Fair at Superpages.com Center, which was to conclude the feminist music tour, has been canceled, along with nine other cities, including Austin and Houston. The concert tour returned just last weekend in Calgary after an 11-year hiatus, with Dallas’ Erykah Badu among the all-woman lineup. The cancellation guts about a third of the tour schedule.
The Dallas installment was to feature Sarah MacLachlan and queer singer Brandi Carlile.
The TX lineup sucked anyways. Not enough good headliners. Main reason why I didn’t buy tickets for it.
Why do they always schedule Dallas in August?
That’s too bad. It’s WAY too hot here to have outdoor concerts from June thru September for me, so I wouldn’t have even thought of going. However, I’m always interested in new artists trying to make their way, so I would be happy to support non-headliner women artists coming to Dallas anytime—-indoors with a/c cranked. Sorry it won’t happen this year.
