The Leather Knights of Dallas will hold their ninth annual School Supply Drive benefiting children living at AIDS Services of Dallas from Saturday, July 21, through Aug. 18.
The organization will be collecting donations of school supplies and money for supplies for children ages 6 to 18.
A kick-off party for the drive will be held at Dallas Eagle, 2515 Inwood Road, No. 107, at 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. A collection box will be set up at the club for supplies, with a Crayon box attached for cash donations. Bartenders at the club will also accept donations.
Donations can also be dropped off at Throckmorton Mining Company, 3014 Throckmorton St., and at Bank of America, 4023 Cedar Springs Road.
Leather Knights is a service organization made up of people in the leather community who are dedicated to community service through fundraisers and volunteerism, and to promote greater understanding of and visibility for the leather community. During the past 14 years, Leather Knights of Dallas have raised funds and volunteered for AIDS-related charities including AIDS Arms, AIDS Interfaith Network, Legacy Founders Cottage, the Leather Archives and Museum, AIDS Services of Dallas, the Nelson-Tebedo clinic and DIFFA.
AIDS Services of Dallas provides assisted living facilities and services for individuals and families affected by AIDS.
