Live theater production focuses on African Americans, AIDS

Drug maker, AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County, Magic Johnson Foundation team up to present “‘Rudy’ at Jubilee Theatre

Abbott Labs, AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County, Jubilee Theatre and the Magic Johnson Foundation’s “I Stand With Magic” Program are joining together on Thursday, July 26, to present a cocktail reception followed by an evening of live theater and information about HIV/AIDS as its affects the African-American and Hispanic communities in the Greater Tarrant County area.

HIV infections are believed to be spreading faster in communities of color than in any other groups.

The evening begins with a reception from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the ballroom of the Ashton Hotel, 610 Main St. in Fort Worth.

The theatrical presentation of “Rudy” will be held from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Jubilee Theatre, 506 Main St. in Fort Worth. It is a musical montage chronicling the many shows brought to life by Jubilee Theatre founder Rudy Eastman.
