7th annual Goth Ball at Granada Theater to benefit Arts Fighting Cancer

Arts Fighting Cancer, a nonprofit organization that produces Lone Star Drive-in and produced the Deep Ellum Film Festival, will present the seventh annual Goth Ball on Saturday, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Granada Theater, 3524 Greenville Ave. Advance tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP tickets. General admission tickets at the door will be $25.

Nodding Dog Caf? to hold pet costume contest to benefit Operation Kindness

The Nodding Dog Caf? and Bistro, 500 N. Bishop St. in Oak Cliff, will holds its “Hoooowl-o-ween Pet Costume Contest” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. There is an entry fee of $10, and proceeds benefit Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter. Prizes will be awarded, and activities will include a raffle, pet photos, food and freebies.

Phil Johnson Archives, Library to sponsor fall book sale

The Resource Center of Dallas’ Phil Johnson Archives and Research Library will hold a fall book sale Nov. 1-4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The sale will be held at the John Thomas Gay and Lesbian Community Center, 2701 Reagan St., Nov. 1-3, and in front of the Nelson-Tebedo Health Resource Center, 4012 Cedar Springs Road, on Nov. 4. Also, Patricia Nell Warren will autograph her new book, “Lavender Locker Rooms” at the community center on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. A portion of her sales will benefit the
archives and library.
