Rainbow Garden Club to hold 1st meeting of 2007 at Dallas Arboretum

The Rainbow Garden Club will meet at the Dallas Arboretum on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. to hear a presentation by Jimmy Turner, director of horticulture.

The presentation will focus on the trial gardens program. The testing program is designed to determine what plants can survive and thrive in the drastic climate of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and other parts of North Central Texas.

The Arboretum is located at 8525 Garland Road, near White Rock Lake.

Women’s Chorus of Dallas to hold open auditions for “‘Let’s Go to the Movies’

The Women’s Chorus of Dallas is seeking women who yearn to do something creative and meet some great people to audition for the group.

The next concert is “Let’s Go to the Movies,” scheduled for March 24. It will feature music from the movies.

There are openings for chorus members as well as soloists. Rehearsals are Mondays at 7 p.m. at Sammons Center for the Arts.

Interested people should attend open rehearsals Jan. 8, Jan. 22 or Jan. 29 to meet chorus members and get a feel for the group.

Reading music is not required.
