AIDS Services of Dallas to hold 2nd annual No Tie Dinner

AIDS Services of Dallas’ second annual No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party will be at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10.

The fund-raiser involves dinner parties at the homes of AIDS Services of Dallas supporters at 5 p.m. followed by a public dessert party at 8 p.m. at Frontiers of Flight Museum, at 6911 Lemmon Ave. in Dallas.

Gay LULAC group changes name to Dallas Rainbow Council

The LULAC Council 4871 has changed its name from Gay LULAC to LULAC 4871 The Dallas Rainbow Council. The council also has launched a new Web site, www.lulac4871.org.

The new name is intended to be more inclusive, reflecting the various colors, faiths and orientations within the council.

LULAC is a 75-year-old organization that has worked to advance the social and economic conditions of Hispanic people.

Cathedral of Hope schedules interfaith mindfulness fellowship

An interfaith mindfulness fellowship is scheduled at the Cathedral of Hope, 5910 Cedar Springs Road, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Sundays in March, April and May.

The fellowship will include meditation, spiritual education and holistic health with a focus on community and world peace.

The six sessions will cover the “six paramitas” of awakening beings as taught by the Buddha. They will be facilitated by Br. ChiSing, an ordained disciple of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh.
