Resource Center seeking 50/50 sponsors for monthly Gay Bingo event
The Resource Center of Dallas is seeking 50/50 sponsors for its monthly Gay Bingo fundraiser from February through November 2009.

Interested groups must send a representative to a drawing in the Resource Center’s Rainbow Room at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Groups selected as 50/50 sponsors will receive half the proceeds from raffle ticket sales during Gay Bingo.

Urban Dog holding ‘Santa Can’ Daysto benefit Legacy Founders Cottage
Urban Dog Coffee, 2720 Oak Lawn Ave., Ste. A, is joining with Legacy Counseling Center to present  "Santa Can" Days, with 7 percent of the profit from sales at the store through Saturday, Dec. 6 going to Legacy Founders Cottage.

The "Santa Can" will also be available through the month of December at Urban Dog Coffee where items such as paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, twin sheets, adult non-pull-up diapers, trash sacks, laundry detergent and grocery store gift cards can be dropped off to donate to Legacy.

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 6 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Boys4Toys staging 10th annual’Toys in Boyland’ holiday toy drive
Boys4Toys holds its 10th annual "Toys in Boyland" toy drive and dance party Saturday, Dec. 6 at Excuses Extreme Café (formerly Club One).

Award-winning DJ Roland Belmares will headline the event, themed this year "Planet Toy."

Tickets are $20 with an unwrapped toy or $40 without a toy.

Leather Knights holding Christmas Drive at Eagle to benefit ASD residents
The Leather Knights of Dallas, in coordination with the Dallas Eagle, will hold their annual Christmas Drive Sunday, Dec. 7, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Dallas Eagle, 2525 Inwood Road.

Proceeds benefit AIDS Services of Dallas.

The event begins with the Kick-Off Dinner and show and will include photos with Santa throughout the evening.

The event will include an Angel Tree with the names of AIDS Services clients to be "adopted" for the holiday, and a donation box for cash and gift cards at the main bar.

Proceeds from the photos with Santa will be used to purchase gift cards for AIDS Services of Dallas residents.

This year, a generous benefactor has agreed to provide all the toys needed by the children at AIDS Services residential facilities for people with AIDS. The Leather Knights and Dallas Eagle are working together to provide Christmas presents for the 130 adults living there. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 21. North Texas GLBT Chamber holding Holiday Mixer, Annual Meeting at S4
The North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce will hold its Holiday Mixer and Annual Meeting Thursday, Dec. 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Rose Room at Station 4,  3911 Cedar Springs Road.

The event is hosted by Caven Enterprises with catering by Maggiano’s Little Italy, with support from Crain and Craig, LLC. Tickets are $15 for chamber members and their guests and $25 general admission. Those attending are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Dallas Tavern Guild’s Holilday Gift Basket Project. RSVP by calling 214-821-GLBT.

Women’s Chorus of Dallas presenting ‘Jubilation’ concert Dec. 14 at SMU
The Women’s Chorus of Dallas presents its annual holiday concert, this year titled "Jubilation," Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. in Caruth Auditorium on the campus of Southern Methodist University.

Advance tickets are $20. Tickets at the door are $25.

The Women’s Chorus will perform with a special guest children’s choir.

Grace United Methodist plans services to celebrate Advent, Christmas seasons
Grace United Methodist Church, 4105 Junius, will hold two special worship services to celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons, both featuring special music and both taking place in the historic 1903 Grace Church sanctuary, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Everyone is invited to attend.

On Dec. 14, the Sanctuary Choir, soloists and instrumentalists will perform "A Day for Dancing" by Lloyd Pfautsch during the Sunday morning service at 10:50 a.m.  This cantata features Medieval carols told in Christmas lessons.

A candlelight "Family Christmas Service" will be held Dec. 24 at 10 p.m.  This service, which will feature carols, scripture and special music, will conclude with worshipers singing Silent Night by candlelight.
