Log Cabin Republicans, the national organization for LGBT Republicans, has accepted an invitation to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference after being denied the opportunity to be a sponsor of the event.
Log Cabin Executive Director Gregory Angelo will speak on a panel called “Putin’s Russia: A New Cold War?” He will be able to discuss President Vladimir Putin’s treatment of LGBT citizens.
Angelo apologized for harsh words exchanged between his group and CPAC.
“After some very fruitful conversations with the leadership of The American Conservative Union, we would like to express regret if anyone associated with The American Conservative Union felt unfairly maligned,” Angelo told the publication The Hill. “That was never our intention.”
