Black Tie Dinner this week announced that Emmy Award-winning actress Debra Messing will receive the Media Award at the 35th annual dinner, being held
Oct. 1 at Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Messing has starred in numerous films throughout her career, but is perhaps most well known for her TV rolls in Will & Grace and Smash. She is also a long-time advocate for the LGBT community, having declared that securing LGBT equality is part of her life’s mission. Black Tie Co-Chair Nathan Robbins said,
“We are delighted and thrilled to honor Debra Messing at this year’s dinner,” adding that her participation in the event rounds out an all-star evening that includes actress Connie Britton, singer Deborah Cox, singer/dancer Todrick Hall and Kuchling Award recipient Dr. Steven Pounders.
