Log Cabin has 135 active members in Dallas (Tom Purdy, President), and Metro has 360 active members. So, both organizations thrive in the D-FW area.

Ignorant statements posted by some DV readers probably helps with personal mental therapy, but does little to advance any other agenda or political point. Seems like the largest organiation, Stonewall Democrats, is where improvement is needed most. I’ve tried attending both and find neither my cup of tea. I’ll just remain a Texas Independent, and align more with the Libertarians.

Addenda: In fact, I think that “respect for individual rights” assertion is hilarious.

Whose rights? Not the rights of the our community. Not the rights of transgendered persons, whom one of their TV idols seems to think are engendered (sic) by “Glee.” Not the rights of pregnant women, who would prefer not to be lectured and probed. Not the rights of working women, who still make 20% less than working men. Not the rights of gay men, unless they are white and very rich. Not the rights of lesbians, given their support of nations practicing “reparative rape.”
