Obama speaks to HRC, promises repeal of DADT

Saying “we cannot afford to discharge people from our ranks with critical skills,” President Barack Obama — in his first speech since becoming a Nobel laureate — pledged the audience at the annual Human Rights Campaign’s Washington, D.C., dinner to repeal “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” He did not outline a time-frame for his policy.
