If you love foliage but still can’t bring yourself to scatter rose petals around a 3,000-square-foot cathedral, there’s always the option of letting nature take care of it for you.
The Dallas Arboretum provides eight sites — from a gazebo (for as little as $350) that can accommodate 25 guests to the recently renovated McCasland Sunken Garden that holds 110 all the way up to two evening-only sites for 200 friends and family.
The Arboretum offers ceremony-only, reception-only and complete packages.
For an historic walk through the park — literally — consider the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park.
Ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners can take place in places such as Nancy’s Garden and the enclosed glass Pavilion. Among the restored buildings, fountains and gardens (some from the antebellum era), you can feel like a pioneer of a different kind.
