Protests in California thru the weekend

News from Rex Wockner in San Diego:

There are at least seven anti-Prop 8 protests already planned tonight in cities throughout California: 5:30 p.m. at the San Francisco Civic Center; 7 p.m. at the Civic Center in Mission Viejo; 5 p.m. at Palm Springs City Hall; 7 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Redondo in Long Beach; 5 p.m. at De La Guerra Plaza Street in Santa Barbara; 9 p.m. Laurel and Sixth Avenue in San Diego (march to city hall).

There is also a protest planned in Salt Lake City, at 6 p.m. at North Temple and State Street to “show solidarity” with gays and lesbians in California.

And the protests continue throughout the weekend. On Saturday: noon at 1st Avenue and University Avenue in San Diego to march to 30th Street and University; 5:30 p.m. at Laguna Beach City Hall to march to Main Beach for a candlelight vigil; 6 p.m. at Sunset Junction in Silver Lake and at the corner of Sunset Blvd. and Santa Monic Blvd in L.A.

And on Sunday: 1 p.m. on the Capitol West Steps in Sacramento.
