This is fantastic and long overdue. As a licensed Realtor myself, I'm glad that NAR has added the GLBT community to it's Non-Discrimination Code of Ethics. I also agree - that while there might be some agents around the country that don't like this new rule - they are required to abide by this Non-Discrimination Code if they wish to remain a Realtor and a Member in good-standing of the National Association of Realtors. Long overdue - and I applaud Bob McCrainie and Jeff Updike and others for helping advancing this change and helping to get it passed at the recent convention. One thing that was a pleasant suprise to me personally was the margin by which it passed the Delegates. 93% ???? Wow.

It was very exciting to be a part of this change to the code of ethics and protect the members of the LGBT community. I have to respectfully disagree with Jeff Updike in that I think this will make REALTORS reflect on their representation and how they treat all their customers. Having this discussion *will* change our industry, and in doing so, we'll change the way GLBT people are treated across the country.
