Resource Center’s YPAC hosts a benefit for Youth First from 6-8 p.m. at the Goss-Michael Foundation, 1405 Turtle Creek Blvd. The event doesn’t just a benefit a good cause, but promises to be a good time too. For one, you’ll be treated with drinks from Stoli Vodka and Bud Light, appetizers by iQon Productions and The Original Cupcakery and music from DJ Benson Wilder.
YPAC is a professional giving circle for young professionals (45 and under) dedicated to supporting Dallas-area LGBT youth, including Youth First programming. Contact Dean S. Wilson at dwilson@myresource center.org or call 214-540-4424 for more information.
LULAC 4871’s Dallas Rainbow Council also hosts a school supply drive during its August membership meeting from 7-9 p.m. at Havana Lounge, 4006 Cedar Springs Road. Cash donations will also be accepted. Click here for more information and a list of supplies.
Members can stick around for two speakers as well. The group welcomes Mike McKay, Peace Corps Regional Director for the Southwest and Ana G. Méndez, the new Director of Outreach and Marketing at Sistema Universitario.
It’s recess time, or as adults call it, happy hour.
