I’m thinking this change in policy really doesn’t mean much for gays, but what it does mean is that active serving troops wanting to get out of fulfilling their service can’t pull the homo-card anymore. Sure gay homo’s will benefit, but I’m pretty sure the military recognized there were ways of keeping people from leaving duty, and this just happens to be one of them.

OK, so the Congress repealed “Don’t Ask; Don’t Tell” regarding Gays in the military, which essentially means Republican-acting gays with a serious-minded military-bearing can serve openly.
It does not mean all Gays can serve, just like not all heterosexuals can serve. A Code of Conduct will remain in place.
Given that, does this mean the ROTC-ban and ban on military recruiters on university campuses will be lifted?
Is it time to end that discrimination too ?

Todd, why don’t you enlist and do your part instead of pointing the finger and making accusations you cannot substantiate? And in case you hadn’t noticed, the “war” we are fighting is on foreign soil. If America is indeed unsafe, it’s because of individuals like you who are bigoted, self-centered and arrogant. And lastly, for the record, no one made any “demands”. The bill that was passed by the Senate was introduced by two heterosexual male senators. Any questions? Or is there anything else you need to know?
