Stonewall Democrats of Dallas President Jesse Garcia said he’s cautiously optimistic about early voting numbers.

“Let’s wait another hour” before celebrating, Garcia said. “It’s going to tighten up. It always does.”

Garcia said he was pleased with early voting numbers in all local races with the exception of a few, including the House District 108 contest, in which Democrat Emil Reichstadt is trailing Republican incumbent Dan Branch. Stonewall had targeted Branch this election season, based on his anti-gay voting record and the fact that he represents portions of Oak Lawn.
