America’s got talent — do you?

America's Got TalentThe cool thing about America’s Got Talent is you don’t have to be a certain age, or even a singer, to get an audition: You just need to do something cool better than anyone else. If you want the chance to demonstrate that ability before  judges, you might consider getting your act together (literally) and planning a little road trip to Houston next month. On Jan. 18 and 19, producers will settle into the Reliant Center for two days of auditions. And keep in mind — they’ve booked everything from drag queens to comedians, so you have a shot whatever you do. If you’re interested, you have to go here to fill out the online form. And, ya know, do something well. That always helps.

Prince Poppycock tonight at the Rose Room

Oh, does he have talent

You probably caught wind of the Baroque dandy singer Prince Poppycock on America’s Got Talent. Although he didn’t snag the top spot, he’s a winner in our eyes with that voice, costumes and theatrics.

DEETS: The Rose Room, 3912 Cedar Springs Road (inside S4). Midnight. $8–$15.
