GIVEAWAY: Tix to Robyn’s DJ set at Rio Room

As if tonight’s concert isn’t enough, Robyn will be making an additional appearance post her California Dreams stint. We mentioned Wednesday that she’ll be doing DJ duty at the Rio Room and how to purchase tickets. Thanks to Blake at Rio, we now have a pair to giveaway.

I won’t make you tweet us this time.  I’ll randomly pick a winner if you can email me by 4 p.m. with the answer to this trivia question: Who were Robyn’s opener/openers at her Dallas show earlier this year? Easy-peezy.

UPDATE: Congrats to our second winner of the day. The correct answer was Diamond Rings and Natalia Kills. Many got it right, but Matthew C. was selected at random. Thanks, all!

Katy Perry & Robyn tonight at Verizon

Pop fantasia

Take one part radio friendly diva, another part alt-pop queen and put them on tour together and bam, it’s like Candyland for pop music. Where Katy Perry delivers irresistible bubblegum treats, Robyn gives steely dance gems and the audience wins with both on hand the same night. DJ Skeet Skeet opens up the night for this stop of the California Dreams Tour.

Both artists weren’t too much in the interviewing mood, but we kinda dig Cat Downes’ faux interview with the two here.

DEETS: Verizon Theatre, 1001 Performance Place, Grand Prairie. 7:30 p.m. $45. Ticketmaster.com.

PS. If you’re a  fan of Robyn, catch her DJ set after the show at the Rio Room.

Concert Notice: Katy Perry brings her ‘Teenage Dream’ to Verizon Theatre in July

True fans of Katy Perry probably got this word first. The pop singer announced on Facebook that she’ll be on the road with her California Dreams 2011 world tour. The tour itself is sounding pretty interactive. The press release says the following:

Katy is planning on interacting with fans through social media networks throughout the California Dreams tour. Using Facebook Places/Deals, fans will be able to check into the venues each night to receive special treats. Fans will also be able to submit their own photos of the show via Twitter which will be incorporated into the live show and also live on her website.

That’ sounds like a whole lotta work. Can’t we just go see the show?

Whilst touring, the release says Perry is about to release “E.T.,” as the album’s fourth single and begin shooting the video.

She’s scheduled to play North Texas at the Verizon Theatre on July 28. Take a look at her here from her performance in Dallas as part of the 2008 Vans Warped Tour.
