WATCH: Video of Colton Ford’s single ‘Let Me Live Again’

Colton-FordIn this week’s edition, we have a story about adult film actor Colton Ford and his efforts, at 50, to establish a music career. We say we really like the album. And actually, you can make a decision about it yourself. After the jump, watch the video. It’s catchy and edgy and leather-daddyish … perfect for a Wednesday morning.

LISTEN: Colton Ford’s ‘Let Me Live Again’

A couple years ago, we took an in-depth listen to Colton Ford’s album Under the Covers. We were kind of harsh on album and well, that was that. Now on the verge of a new release with original material, his new single isn’t half bad.

Ford co-wrote the song “Let Me Live Again” with WAWA and Ray Isaac which was released today with b-side “The Music Always Gets You Back.” Ford likes his techno dance music, but “Live Again” is a somewhat inspired effort. It has nice texture and the lyrics are both sexy and sweet. Ford also gives some great falsetto. Check it out after the jump.

WATCH: Gay singer Matt Zarley’s ‘WTF’

If you’re not familiar with Matt Zarley, the pop singer, think Colton Ford or Brian Kent. They kind of run together in that scruffy-but-polished-gay-dance-singer category. They sing fine, but rely more on looks, muscle and dance beats to get our attention.

Instinct oozed all over this new Zarley vid, which doesn’t highlight his beefcake as much as it just includes a whole bunch of it. The song is cheese, as is the video (if not kinda embarrassing), but wanted to share since he debuted it earlier this week. It’s probably PG-13, so I can’t give it a strong NSFW rating.

Colton Ford at the Dallas Eagle Saturday night

The Dallas Eagle had a packed house Halloween night with its Cops and Robbers party. With encouraged uniform dress, people filled the club with costumes and beef to partake in major tricks and treats. Or it might have had something to do with a special performer for the night.

Colton Ford to perform at the Dallas Eagle

I just received confirmation that hunky Colton Ford will be giving a concert Halloween night at the Dallas Eagle. Not much more details than that right now. It does look like a special appearance more than a tour stop for his latest CD, Under the Covers. His site shows Dallas as his only scheduled live performance. At least for now.

This vid might give you some preview of what to expect. That is if you must suffer through seven minutes of a hot muscly guy singing shirtless.

Friday Listening Party: Colton Ford's 'Under the Covers'

COLTON_Under_The_Covers_albur_art

The Listening Party is back. We’ve been a little distracted lately or schedules just weren’t meshing but we’re glad to be back on track. This week, we’re listening Colton Ford’s Tuesday release, Under the Covers. I get a little worried about former porn stars crossing over into the mainstream. Clearly, ego blinds them to their diverse talents — or lack thereof. Colton Ford is way hot but how does he fare becoming the next dance music sensation?

With snarling good looks, silvery hair and chiseled body, Ford has our attention but we’re a little confused by this CD. Clearly he prefers to sing, a point his press release drives home (“Ford lives — and loves — to sing.”) but this ambitious sophomore release of cover songs threw us for a loop. What’s worse is Ford’s explanation. “Adding my interpretation to these songs gives a new perspective to these classic tunes, enabling me to show different sides of my vocal ability,” he said.

Um, O.K., now let’s see what the others thought.
