PET OF THE WEEK: Doc

Doc is a 3-month-old black-and-white tuxedo kitty. He has a distinctive little half-mustache that makes him a real standout. Doc is all kitten — playful, curious and full of fun. He’s very friendly and good with most other cats.

Doc and many other dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are available for adoption from Dallas Animal Services, 1818 N. Westmoreland at I-30, just minutes west of downtown Dallas. The shelter is open Monday-Saturday 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Sundays noon-5 p.m. The cost to adopt is $85 for dogs and $55 for cats and includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and more. Bertha is a big, beautiful Belgian Malinois mix with awesome ears and a great grin. She’s a little over a year old and full grown at just 48 pounds. Bertha is friendly and happy, loves people and is good with most other dogs. She’s a keeper!

Fauna is a 4 ½-month-old kitten with a glossy black coat and a small white patch under one leg. She’s playful, loving and patient, even sitting still to pose for pictures with a silly paper lei around her neck. Fauna will make a great forever feline friend.

Pet of the Week: Boomer

What a face! Boomer is an adorable, black-and-brown, rottweiler-shepherd mix. He’s a gentle puppy who’s eager to make friends and seems to be good with other dogs. Boomer is about 6 months old and currently weighs 32 pounds. He should weigh about 50-60 pounds when full grown.
